Charlie Puth humbly returns Taylor Swift's favour: 'My friend called Hero'

Charlie Puth is thankful for Taylor Swift's appreciation!

Just a few days after Swift, 34, mentioned him in a song from her new album The Tortured Poets Department, Puth, 32, teased a new song on TikTok on Friday, May

"These last couple of weeks have been really crazy for obvious reasons, but I wanted to share something with you

" the See You Again singer wrote with a video of himself singing along to his new single.

"This is a song I created about my friend, 'Hero.' "I get a little nervous being overly honest in my music,

which is why this was sitting on my hard drive for a while," Puth explained. "But I think someone out there was giving me a sign that I needed to release it."

"So… I declare that 'Hero' will be released globally on May 24th as the first single from my new album. We appreciate your support. "You know who you are," Puth said.

Swift pays homage to the musician on the title track of her eleventh studio album. The album was released on April 19.

Swift makes humorous fun of a previous romantic interest in the song, comparing himself to great poets and displaying a like for ancient typewriters.
