Jeff Bezos spends $16 million on another apartment in Manhattan to build his "vertical" dream home.

There are already three flats in the building owned by the CEO of Amazon.

Jeff Bezos is buying another apartment in Manhattan for $16.13 million at a 24-story boutique condo building across from Madison Square Park in the Flatiron neighborhood. He already owns all four units on the top four floors of this building.

The CEO of Amazon bought the apartment at 212 Fifth Avenue through a limited liability business registered in Delaware on February 25.

The property that was filed with the city Thursday says that the deal was finalized on April 7.

The deal wasn't put on the market. Property records show that the seller bought the unit for $11.25 million in April 2018 through a limited liability company. The seller's name is kept secret.

This is one of only two apartments on the 20th floor. It is right below Mr. Bezos's three-story, 10,079-square-foot penthouse and two flats on the 21st floor, which he bought through the same LLC for a total of $80 million in May 2019.

Forbes' real-time estimate of Mr. Bezos's net worth of $142 billion makes him the richest person in the world. He didn't reply right away to a request for comment sent through Amazon.

The unit is 3,078 square feet and has three bedrooms, three-and-a-half bathrooms, an eating and living area that looks like a loft, and many gallery walls.
