Naomi Osaka Imitates Challengers After Movie's Screenwriter Says It Was Inspired by Her 2018 US Open Victory

Naomi Osaka likes Challengers! The tennis star paid appreciation to the film on TikTok on May 1. Zendaya plays a tennis player-turned-coach in a love triangle.

“No one:” In her video caption, Osaka, 26, wrote: “Me after watching Challengers.” The four-time Grand Slam champion works on her serve, twirls her racket, and adjusts her ponytail while the movie's score plays.

As a fan, Osaka channels Challengers' atmosphere, but she was half of the match that inspired the film.

Williams called the umpire a “thief” for assigning her three code infractions in the famous encounter. After winning 6-2, 6-4, Osaka tearfully told Williams and the spectators, "I'm sorry that it had to end like this."

Kuritzkes claimed it instantly clicked in his thoughts. “Suppose you needed to talk about something? Could it be something else than tennis? What if it was between you two? Suppose it involves the other net-sider? How would you have the talk and convey the tension using cinema tools?
