Who will replace Purdue's Zach Edey? 5 NBA draft candidates for Matt Painter after 2024

Matt Painter and the Purdue Boilermakers reached the national championship game last season with senior centre Zach Edey.

Edey was crucial to Purdue's success and won Player of the Year again.

Edey was Purdue's leading scorer, rebounder, and shot blocker and will likely play in the NBA next season.

Rutgers centre Clifford Omoruyi declared for transfer in his last season. He hasn't found a new home for the season, and Purdue needs a strong centre to replace Edey.

Ole Miss core Moussa Cisse is another great centre Purdue could possibly portal for. He played two seasons at Oklahoma State after starting at Memphis.

Achor, a 6-foot-9 Samford forward, doesn't have Edey's size, but he can score well and rebound well. After two seasons at Chipola College in Florida, Achor transferred to Samford in 2022.

Although smaller than Zach Edey, Coleman Hawkins is very athletic and might replace him. Hawkins is 6-foot-10 yet versatile. He averaged 12.1 ppg, 6.1 rpg, and 2.7 apg at Illinois last season.

Will Berg will replace Zach Edey as Purdue's starting big man if Matt Painter and Purdue can't find a transfer. Berg played little as a freshman behind Edey.
